June 1940. The death of a conscientious objector in police custody and the booby-trap murder of a young evacuee at the home of tribunal judge Lawrence Gascoigne (Oliver Ford Davies) lead Foyle and Milner to suspect someone is out for revenge. Could the death of the evacuee be a smokescreen for a maze of family conflict and prejudice against pacifists? And what is the real work of the secret wartime factory nearby?
