Gardening program hosted by Jim Wilson and joined by Bob Smaus, Roger Swain, Lucinda Mays and Peter Seabrook as international travel correspondent. Series chef is Marion Morash. Special correspondent is Holly Shimizu. The Boston-based Victory Garden (w/ Roger Swain) is located at a private residence; Victory Garden South is at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia; Victory Garden West is at Roger's Garden Center in Corona del Mar, California. Original program: Crockett's Victory Garden - premiered April 6, 1976. Hosted by Jim Crockett. Second host Bob Thomson (for 12 years till 1991). Series release date: 1976

Program Description

Evergreens and Others Tried & True: Gardening correspondent Paul Epsom finds a shortcut to creating a "bonsai" scene — he uses dwarf conifers. Garden Design: Host Michael Weishan heads to Bilodeaus's tree nursery in Boxborough, Massachusetts to show viewers why the perfect time to choose a tree for your garden is when it's in bloom. Cutting Gardens: Lifestyle co-host Sissy Biggers goes behind the scenes at a large floral design studio in Boston, Winston's Flowers. There she learns how some very creative types of greens found in any garden — from scented geranium to bamboo to hosta leaves — can enhance an arrangement. Digging Deeper: Special guest correspondent Jamie Durie examines the art of Japanese pruning.
