- Series Description
Hosted by Eric Sevareid. ENTERPRISE's pioneering use of the "case study" approach to business documents high level decisions as they are taking place in the executive boardrooms. ENTERPRISE deliberately shows decision making processes as they occur. Business is treated as a human endeavor rather than an economic phenomenon. It goes beyond the statistics and charts to show real people making critical decisions and then bearing the consequences. ENTERPRISE benefits from the expertise of the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration (as Harvard professors act as advisors to each program.) Ex Prod: Zvi Dor-Ner / Each individual episode has different producer Series release date: 10/1981
- Program Description
Hosted by Eric Sevareid. John DeLorean was the shining star of General Motors and was one step away from presidency when he resigned in 1983. He declared he was bored and disgusted with what he thought was the auto industry's inefficiency and lack of creativity. he then launched the DeLorean Motor Company. This program looks at one man's obsession with marketing a profitable but "ethical" sports car and an account of how an idea makes its way from a New York boardroom to an assembly line in Northern Ireland. It illustrates the critical gap between conception of an idea in 1973 through the finished product's entry into the marketplace in 1981. A behind the scenes look into actual DeLorean boardroom meetings.
NOTE: Updated and broadcast as Enterprise program 405: John De Lorean: End Of The Road.
