When Max Van der Vuurst (Joss Ackland) is found burned to death in his bed, Superintendent Tyburn's (Trevor Eve) search for the truth leads to a violent shoot-out with a band of African marauders and triggers one last surprise from the dead millionaire -- and full-blown romance for Tyburn and Emma (Susannah Harker).

1914:Investigating the murder of a local boy who worked for newspaper magnate Max Van der Vuurst (Joss Ackland), Tyburn (Trevor Eve) boldly arrests the tycoon. When Van der Vuurst is exonerated with the help of his dissembling daughter Hilde (Sonya Walger), Tyburn, certain Van der Vuurst is guilty, is all the more determined to bring him to justice.
