Gardening program hosted by Jim Wilson and joined by Bob Smaus, Roger Swain, Lucinda Mays and Peter Seabrook as international travel correspondent. Series chef is Marion Morash. Special correspondent is Holly Shimizu. The Boston-based Victory Garden (w/ Roger Swain) is located at a private residence; Victory Garden South is at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia; Victory Garden West is at Roger's Garden Center in Corona del Mar, California. Original program: Crockett's Victory Garden - premiered April 6, 1976. Hosted by Jim Crockett. Second host Bob Thomson (for 12 years till 1991). Series release date: 1976

Holly Shimizu is in Woodstock, VT, at the Woodstock Inn with all the Victory Garden staff. We are welcomed during this holiday season with music by the Revere Handbell Choir.
Chief Ranger Tim Maguire and Roger Cook snow-shoe towards the village of Woodstock and observe the many changes over the years.
Roger Cook goes to Pomfret to cut down a tree for Christmas.
Lucinda Mays is with Education Coordinator Geraldine Brown who is making Victorian holiday decorations.
Roger Swain is with David Miles, Director of Operations, helping him to store ice.
Marian Morash is with Interpreter Donna Mills who prepares Scottish Shortbread.
Recipe: 1 c. softened butter 1/2 c. sugar 2 c. flour
Gradually mix butter and sugar until fluffy. Gradually mix in flour (dough will be stiff). Do not over-mix. Form into ball and press into 1/2" thick circle onto a baking dish; prick with fork. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes. Cut into wedges while still warm.
Geraldine and Holly display a traditional Christmas "pie" filled with trinkets, a Christmas stocking and crystallized garden ornaments made by soaking items overnight (off heat) in 1 lb. alum to 1/2 gallon of boiling water.
Jim Wilson is with David Yeatts, Farm Manager, shoeing horses.
The Rocking Rotarians sing Christmas carols to welcome guests to a traditional holiday dinner.
