Program Description

This film, by acclaimed filmmaker David Sutherland, is an unblinking look deep into the human spirit. On three extraordinary nights of television, the audience is privy to a disarmingly intimate, emotionally engrossing portrait of a passionate yet troubled relationship. The film takes viewers into the lives of Darrel and Juanita Buschkoetter (pronounced BUSH-cutter) to tell a compelling love story. Gleaned from more than 200 hours of film shot on location over three years, "The Farmer's Wife" follows Juanita and Darrel as they face seemingly insurmountable economic hardship, only to confront an even greater challenge -- saving their marriage.
