Program Description

Elly Chandler (Catherine Russell), young and recently divorced, persuades her sister-in-law, Dee Tate (Barbara Flynn), to join her in a new business venture: private investigation into personal and marital cases. With the help of surveillance equipment, expert Larry Blakeston (Peter Capaldi), who investigated the infidelities of Elly's ex-husband, Max (Christopher Bowen), and over the objections of Dee's barrister husband, David (Struan Rodger), Dee and Elly are plunged into the compelling world of other people's crises of passion, betrayal, love and reconciliation -- On the Job--Carmen Talbot (Julie Peasgood), who owns and runs a health club with her husband, Clifford (William Armstrong), hires Dee and Elly to investigate the embezzlement of funds from the business. Their discoveries shock them and tear the Talbot family apart. The resolution of another case, which results in the reconciliation of an elderly couple after the husband's fling with a young colleague, sparks a debate in the Tate household over the rights and wrongs of private detective work.
