- Program Description
Adrian Bloom is in Provence at St. Restitut with black truffle hunters/exporters Nicholas & Natalie Mirande to discuss the mystery of Tuber melanosporum, France's treasured "black diamond" delicacy.
Chef Marian is in Entrechaux with chefs Joanne and George Killeen at their home; they prepare fresh pasta with black truffles: 1/2 lb. fresh pasta 2 large egg yolks 3/4 c. creme fraiche (or marscapone) 1/2 c. grated parmiggiano reggiano cheese
Mix two egg yolks and 2 dollops of creme fraiche with 1/2 c. cheese and fold into cooked pasta; shave one black truffle over pasta and serve.
Back at the suburban garden, Roger Swain wears aeration sandals and Roger Cook uses a professional machine that pulls out small plugs to aerate the lawn. This allows water and oxygen to easily penetrate the lawn.
Roger Swain and Roger Cook are in the cottage garden to remove and replace a Western red cedar.
