Lady Pru requisitions the drawing room for a benefit theatrical for the Red Cross. A stage is constructed, the staff is drafted to help . . . and in the middle of a rehearsal an air raid begins. The house suffers an indirect hit. As the debris is cleared away the next day, a telegram arrives: James is missing in action.
