Jemma Redgrave returns as Victorian physician Eleanor Bramwell in the third installment of the series, shaking up the staid British medical establishment in four new episodes. The programs star Jemma Redgrave as Eleanor Bramwell, David Calder as Robert Bramwell, Kevin McMonagle as Joe Marsham, Cliff Parisi as Daniel Bentley, Ruth Sheen as Nurse Carr, Keeley Gainey as Kate and Andrew Connolly as Dr. O'Neill. Episode One--Eleanor applies for a part-time job at St. Jude's Hospital and earns a spectacular promotion. But then a 12-year-old prostitute shows up. Episode Two--A mysterious woman turns out to be Eleanor's disgraced Aunt Emily, returned from India after absconding with the family jewels 20 years earlier. Episode Three--Cholera breaks out at the Thrift Infirmary and a handsome, influential doctor claims to have a cure. Episode Four--A military colleague of the elder Dr. Bramwell recruits children to take to America, but his wife's bruises raise alarms to the vigilant Eleanor.
