- Program Description
The Rosetta Stone's hieroglyphics de-coded, unlocking the mysteries of the ancient Egyptian language. In this Egyptian wall painting (1420 B.C.), scribes record the harvest while laborers measure the grain. Much about life in ancient Egypt as recorded in the hieroglyphs had been a mystery until the discovery of the Rosetta Stone in 1799.
