Gardening program hosted by Jim Wilson and joined by Bob Smaus, Roger Swain, Lucinda Mays and Peter Seabrook as international travel correspondent. Series chef is Marion Morash. Special correspondent is Holly Shimizu. The Boston-based Victory Garden (w/ Roger Swain) is located at a private residence; Victory Garden South is at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia; Victory Garden West is at Roger's Garden Center in Corona del Mar, California. Callaway Gardens curator Lucinda Mays brings viewers up-to-date on the southern Victory Garden where she has expanded the perennial border. She'll show what's involved, from soil preparation to planting. Back in the northeast, Roger Swain plants demonstrates transplanting the azaleas from the area he will be re-landscaping and he visits the Walpole Woodworkers Fence Company to look for fence for the same area. Peter Seabrook visits the Island of Jersey to see how they grow their world famous potatoes.
