- Program Description
“Squabbling among the democratic groups in post war Germany, the guilt clauses of the Versailles treaty, a calamitous inflation, the effects of the world depression, and an ominous restlessness which threatened the Establishment in Germany, all contributed to the rise and the dominance of the Nazis. In 1932, under the leadership of Adolf Hitler, the Nazis gained control of the levers of power and then Hitler scrapped the Weimar Republic and Germany became a police state. In the six years from 1933 to 1939, Nazi Germany was the bully of international life, and thought the Nazis were defeated, they brought down a large part of Europe and the World.”
