Program Description

A special tribute to Wollaston’s queen, “Happy Birthday, Ruth Gordon.” This conversation taped on October 29, the eve of her 80th birthday, has Elliot and Ruth reminiscing about her fascinating career in show business. Many of these tales are recounted in her recently published autobiography, "Ruth Gordon: An Open Book." She is a stage actress, a movie actress and she is a successful screen writer with her husband Garson Kanin. Because of her varied and amazing life, both her book and she are full of tales about Greta Garbo, Thornton Wilder, Somerset Maugham, Katherine Cornell, Humphrey Bogart and many more.
