The Boston-based Victory Garden (w/ Roger Swain) is located at a private residence; Victory Garden South is at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia; Victory Garden West is at Roger's Garden Center in Corona del Mar, California. - Program Description
Roger Swain in the vegetable garden gives a brief history of the garden spade fork, turns over the winter rye and checks over the winter crops, cabbages, leeks, parsnips. Also, plants some spinach seeds demonstrates proper soil prep and planting. Holly Shimizu visits the Morukami Museum and Japanese Garden in Del Ray, Florida. She has an interesting and informative tour with curator of the beautiful, traditional Japanese gardens and bonsai displays. Roger Swain plants a bare-rooted rose Rosa “Garden Sun” at the trellis along the driveway area. He demos proper planting techniques and soil prep. He checks the garden lettece grown in the green house.
