Rose Art Museum Brandeis University’s board of trustees voted yesterday to close its Rose Art Museum. The university will sell every one of the approximately 6,000 pieces in the museum, which opened in 1961. Nonprofit Contributions As Boston faces a $140 million budget shortfall, pressure is mounting for the city’s nonprofit institutions to pay their fair share of taxes. City officials estimate that these nonprofits make voluntary payments that are just 10 % of what they would pay in real estate taxes.
