- Holding On: A Love Story from the Streets
- Program Description
In the 1994 WGBH-produced special A Long Way From Home: Boston Street Stories, local filmmaker John Baynard offered an unflinching look at the day-to-day realities facing Boston's homeless population--including a particular couple, Luis Santiago and Donna Mercier. HOLDING ON continues that homeless couple's chronicle as the two contend with everything from drug addiction to imprisonment to physical and mental health crises to a sudden financial windfall. Baynard presents an intimate, non-judgemental protrait of two individuals who, in Mercer's words, find solace in facing their problems together over time.
