Gardening program hosted by Jim Wilson and joined by Bob Smaus, Roger Swain, Lucinda Mays and Peter Seabrook as international travel correspondent. Series chef is Marion Morash. Special correspondent is Holly Shimizu. The Boston-based Victory Garden (w/ Roger Swain) is located at a private residence; Victory Garden South is at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia; Victory Garden West is at Roger's Garden Center in Corona del Mar, California. Theme: Garden chores This week, The Victory Garden tackles the everyday chores that keep the garden growing. Host Michael Weishan will share tips about lilacs, including reviving under-performing shrubs, and lilac care; gardener Kip Anderson will demonstrate how to direct sow seeds into the vegetable garden; garden correspondent Paul Epsom is on hand to help give your back a break when he shares some tools that manage the heavy loads in garden; and finally, Chef Michael Schlow joins Michael to whip up a delicious dish: slow-roasted salmon with "melted" cabbage.
