Program Description

This program explores the family turmoil surrounding 11-year-old Evan, a kid who always seems to be in trouble, and the attempts of his parents, Karin and Mike, to cope with and change his behavior. Their story is told with a special intimacy and power through the use of surveillance cameras, placed in the family's home with their consent, that record the raw, uncensored drama of a family in crisis, 24 hours a day, for three months. As a counterpoint to the family's drama, the film examines the stories of juveniles sentenced to a detention facility as they explore the connection between the family trauma in their childhoods and the crimes they committed.
