Discovering Psychology, 26 half-hour television programs covers the fundamental principles and major concepts of psychology including: brain and behavior, sensation and perception, conditioning and learning, cognitive processes, motivation and emotion, life-span development, the self and identity, sex and gender, testing and intelligence, social influences, psychopathology and therapy, stress and health issues, methodology, and new directions. The host for the video programs is Philip Zimbardo, who has taught introductory psychology for more than 30 years. Professor Zimbardo weaves the thread of each program topic through original footage of classic experiments, interviews with renowned psychologists, and documentaries on emerging research. He takes viewers into working laboratories and introduces leading scholars and researchers who seek to improve the quality of human life.
