Program Description

An intimate conversation with a movie director who has revolutionized the making of theatrical documentaries, yet says he really wanted make comedies. with Harvard’s Paul Michaud, he reviews his career to date, and several excerpts from his films punctuate the discussion, including the splendid interview he had with Gov. Lester Maddox for American Revisited.
