Program Description

"(Program) discusses psychiatric rehabilitation by presenting a non-interpretative study of Lucy, an ex-mental patient in her fifties, who has been in and out of mental hospitals since her teens. Shows Lucy working as a secretary at the hospital where she was formerly a patient as she struggles to find a place for herself in the community. Observes that she functions well except in times of stress when she becomes dependent on those around her." (from 1990 Film and Video Catalog, Indiana University)

The film was produced by Henry Morgenthau III with an United States Department of Health, Education, and Welfare grant. Film runtime is 35:00; 60:00 version includes a panel discussion. Color, 1969.
