Program Description

This year BEMF focuses on one of the greatest English composers of all time, Henry Purcell, marking his tercentenary. As usual, many of the luminaries of the early music world will be with us: individuals such as lutenist Paul O'Dette and harpist Andrew Lawrence-King, and ensembles such as Anonymous 4, Frewtwork and the BEMF Orchestra. The crowning achievement this year will be five performances of Purcell's opera King Arthur.
