Program 8: T.F. Conley reporting on events of 3/30 - 4/1/1964: Ted Mascott is arrested while reporting on the St. Augustine police beating of a demonstrator with a cattleprod. Excerpts of actualities of delegation of protesters led by Mary Parkman Peabody (mother of MA. Governor Endicott Peabody) seeking to integrate the Monson Motor Lodge. Confrontation with Monson General Manager James Brock. After leaving the Monson, Mrs. Peabody, Rev. William England, Robert Hayling, Mrs. Burgess, and others seek service at the Ponce de Leon Motor Lodge and are again denied. Mrs. Peabody would, on 4/1, be arrested at the Ponce de Leon for refusing to leave the premises

Program then moves to T.F. Conley exclusive interview with Mrs. Peabody, prior to her arrest, on her impressions of the current situation in St. Augustine. Later Conley notes that Mrs. Peabody was arrested, and Gov. Peabody holds press conference at the statehouse in Boston, excerpts are heard.

Program concludes with Conley interviewing Walt Wagoner, a Yale University student, who had been recently released from jail for his part in a sit-in protest at a St. Augustine pharmacy lunch counter.
